The US Backgammon Federation is Working FOR YOU!!!!
I am very excited that the players have formed a non-profit organization dedicated to truly promote the skill game of backgammon in the U.S.
I am proud to be a member of the Board of Governors as well as Chairman of two committees: The Rules and Ethics Committee, and The Education Committee.
HOW CAN YOU HELP THE GROWTH OF BACKGAMMON???
1. Be a positive force in your community...let your friends and people you meet know that backgammon is alive and well and a great game, and offer to help teach them and get them involved; 2. Support your local clubs and tournaments. "Support" doesn't just mean showing up--it means encouraging your friends and relatives to come and cooperating with the tournament director to help make the event a positive experience for all. It means being a good sport and a friendly competitor that helps make people feel welcome and want to come back.

ANNOUNCING, A NEW TEACHING PARTNERSHIP!!!
Backgammon Lessons for players of all levels all over the world via Webex.
Perry and I have formed a partnership to teach players of all levels. Perry will concentrate on the higher-level players and will assist me with my lesson plans as well. Perry has won many tournaments, was a semi-finalist in the World Championships two times, was ranked as high as No. 2 on the US Tour, and is a noted author, lecturer and teacher. Our approach is to provide players with a methodology for finding the best checker plays and cube decisions that will immediately take them to a higher level of play. Many of ouf students have gone from beginner to intermediate, and from intermediate to Open in just 3 months! You can read their stories in their own words in the testimonials tab to the left.
We use Webex so that students can see our computer screen and we talk freely over the internet. Private lessons are $50 an hour ($75 and hour for advanced, private lessons with Perry), and we offer special rates for groups and students.
OUT LESSONS ARE GUARANTEED....if you do not see major improvement in your game, we'll refund your money!
About Phil:
I am the world's first "Professor of Backgammon" teaching backgammon in an accredited course at Georgia Southern University (via Webex). I have over 200 former students and have published over 100 articles. I lecture at major tournaments around the U.S. and via Webex to groups all over the world.
I have also been ranked as high at No. 2 in the U.S. and this past year I was "Player of the Year" at The Chicago Backgammon Association downtown club. I am currently the No. 1 player at the Chicago Bar Point Club.

*Tip of the day, quote of the day
| Tip of the Day:
What I know helps during a tournament is getting enough
sleep before a playing day, taking advantage of breaks between matches to rest
(or even nap), avoiding heavy meals, having light snacks for quick energy as
needed, and rationing those cups of coffee so that the boost comes during a
match when you need it.--Walter Trice, 2004
Quote of the Day:
"Two expert players will never disagree. Knowledge at
Backgammon, after all, is finite." Georges Mabardi, 1930
Backgammon Loses a Great One:
Associate press, Thur, Mar 11 Miami: Tim Holland, a world backgammon champion who was one of the most prominent competitors in the game has died. He was 79. Holland died Wednesday of emphysema at his West Palm Beach home. Holland won the World Backgammon Championships in 1967, 68, and 71.
ExtremeGammon Tip: You can copy any position on the screen by hitting control/C, and then paste it into another itteration of EX by hitting control/V, or you can past in on the screen you are working on uxing control/V. That copies the position in a manner where you can move checkers, change the score, do rollouts and save the position separately.
