Hello players,

     I’m delighted to advise you that the U.S. Backgammon Federation is now taking memberships on its website usbgf.org. This membership organization is led by Perry Gartner, President/Executive Director, and has a number of leading players active on the Board of Directors, Board of Governors, and various Committees, including yours truly.  If you’ve already joined, thank you for your confidence in us, and congratulations on being in the first 125 members of our organization. I hope you’ve had an opportunity to check out our new enhanced website and the inaugural first issue of the USBGF bi-monthly electronic magazine PrimeTime Backgammon. We hope that you will forward this e-mail to your fellow backgammon players and urge them to join.

     If you haven’t yet joined, there are at least four compelling reasons for you and your friends to join:

• Get information to improve your game and keep improving it.
• Compete in USBGF sanctioned events – including a national online tournament and quizzes and lectures at major national tournaments.
• Learn about backgammon events, playing opportunities, players, activities, and ratings & statistics of members across the U.S. BG scene.
• Become part of our movement to popularize backgammon in the US, including developing and supporting programs in schools and colleges.

At present, the website content is available to all on a complimentary basis, but lots of content will become restricted to members including future issues of the magazine, backgammon analytic articles, and ratings & statistics information.
