Checker Play Answer

There are basically three plays here:  Slot the back of the prime (13/9), play safe down to the 8 point, or hit two.

To find the right strategy you have to think about your overall game plan.  With two of White's checkers back, your basic goal is to try to prime them...."prime a pair, attack a blot."  The best way to extend your prime is to slot it.  It's a risk, but if you play safe, you really don't accomplish anything worthwhile to advance your goal to win.  Yes, you could get hit, and you wouldn't like it, but as you may have heard on this site before:  "Sometimes the greatest risk is to take no risk at all."
